With great pleasure, we awarded a commemorative plaque to the Deputy Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Heraklion, Mrs. Plevri Aristea, for her contribution to the exhibition.
In her statements at the opening of the exhibition, Ms. Plevri said the following:
In the age of the global pandemic, the problems that are happening in our country, the problems that are happening in our neighborhood (Afghanistan is not far away) there are some people who persistently look with a penetrating look, with an optimistic look, with a creative look .
This is proved by today's photo exhibition, which takes place in Agios Markos for the second year and we are happy because visitors can finally discover the axiom that photography is also an art.
Apart from topicality, apart from reporting, apart from capturing a random or set moment, photography is art. This is an extremely interesting exhibition, which covers a huge range of photos, with different interests, but which all converge on one rule: open your eyes to see what is happening around us.
Many thanks to the organizers of the exhibition, I declare that the Municipality is at their disposal for even better in the coming years.
Thank you very much.
